The Idiot

The Idiot cover

If you’re in search of a book and haven’t yet devoured the awesomeness of Dostoevsky’s The Idiot I highly recommend it! It’s a long read but what a pleasure. Especially, after having sat in lectures which took this book apart, so to speak, I’m able to appreciate it more.

The world Dostoevsky writes is in complete chaos but in a very comic way at that. So dramatic! But so enjoyable!

The picture of my translation’s cover I have here is, as my professor put it, “the lesser evil”. Mainly because certain things always gets lost in translations… Unfortunately.

That said, the one I have is translated by Richard Pevear and Larissa Volokhonsky and the publisher is Vintage Classics. Plus, the cover is pretty damn cool!
